What is prophecy?
Prophecy is the voice of God (Mt 3:17). There are 2 types of prophecies. One is written Prophecy (2 Pet 1:20-21, 2 Tim 3:15-18). Second is spoken prophecy (1 Cor 14:1, 24-25, 39).
The Bible or the word of God is the written prophecy (Rev 1:3, 22:18-19) and the oral prophecy is the spoken prophecy (Rom 12:6, 1 Thes 5:20).
Remember, the spoken prophecy is always in line with the written prophecy. Prophecy reveals the will and destiny of God in your life (1 Tim 1:18, 4:14, Acts 13:2-3).
